Even though the AP called it for Obama as early as 2:00 pm yesterday, I waited to see if anything would change overnight. You never know with the Clinton Machine. But it looks like Obama has the nomination locked down for sure this time. His 2,156 delegate tally puts him well above the 2118 required to win the nomination.

Hillary (1,923 delegates) is keeping her campaign alive, saying she won’t make any decisions for now. You would think that, given how fragmented the Democratic Party is at this point, Hillary would have more class to accept defeat graciously. Rather than congratulate Barack for winning, she congratulated him for his campaign.

At any rate, this is a historic moment and it’s one worth celebrating.
